Beef with Broccoli and Sayote Stirfry

I have already tried to cooked beef stir-fry with most of the vegetables that can be cooked with stir-fries. For today’s post I made a beef stirfry with broccoli and choko, cooking of course is basically that same with my pervious beef stir-fry recipes. Just remember to use beef tenderloin of sirloin for this recipe and do not overcook.

Here is the recipe of my Beef with Broccoli and Choko Stirfry.

Ingredients:

1 kilo beef sirloin steak, cut into thin strips/slices
1 large size, broccoli, cut into serving pieces, stem thinly sliced, separate
2 medium size chayote/choko, peeled, deseeded, sliced into thin strips
1 small size red or yellow bell pepper, cut into strips
2-3 thumb size ginger, peeled, cut into thin strips
1 small bundle leeks, cut into 2” lengths
1 medium onion, coarsely chopped
2-3 thumb size ginger, peeled, cut into thin strips
2-3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup oyster sauce
1/4 cup cornstarch
salt and pepper
cooking oil

Beef with Broccoli and Sayote Stirfry - Cooking Procedure

Cooking procedure:

In a big bowl place the beef and mix in the soy sauce and cornstarch, let marinate for at least 15 minutes. Heat wok until it starts to smoke, add in generous amount of oil and stir fry garlic and ginger until aromatic. Remove from wok and keep aside. On same wok strifry the broccoli stems and the choko for 2 to 3 minutes then add in the, leeks, broccoli florets and onion for and stirfry for another minute, remove from wok and keep aside. On same wok stirfry the marinated beef in batches, add more cooking oil as necessary for 5 to 8 minutes or until it start to render fats. When done with the rest of the beef, return all the stirfried ingredients to the wok. Add in the oyster sauce and bell pepper, stir cook for another 1 to 2 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.
