Ginisang Sitaw, Sautéed String Beans. String beans is one of the few Pinoy vegetables that is available our local Supermarket. I have been completely ignoring it every time I passed by on the at the vegetables section during this past few weeks for the reason that I could not think of any dish that I cook with just string beans without the other vegetables that go with it

But today I decided that I will go ahead a cook a simple ginisa dish of string beans and lots of pork.

Ginisang Sitaw

Here is the recipe of that dish.

Ingredients:

2 cups pork, cut into strips, boiled
2 bundles sitaw, string beans, trimmed, cut into 1 1/2” length
1/2 head garlic, peeled, chopped
1 medium size onion, peeled, chopped
1 big size tomato, chopped
1/4 cup fish sauce
salt
cooking oil

Cooking procedure:

In a sauce pan, sauté garlic, onion and tomato for 1 to 2 minutes. Add in the pork and stir fry for 2 to 3 minutes then add in fish sauce and continue to stir fry for a minute. Now add in 1 to 2 cups water bring to a boil and simmer for 3 to 5 minutes. Add in the string bean and continue to cook for about 5 to 8 minutes or until string beans are just cooked, correct saltiness if required. Serve hot with a lot of rice.
