Cooking a restaurant dish Steamed Pork Spareribs is actually very easy. Even I you do not have a steamer you can always set up your pan or rice cooker in to a teamer. The truth your rice steamer has a steaming rack that you have provably forgotten.
As I said cooking our Steamed Pork Spareribs, Pinoy Style is very easy all that you need to do is combine all the ingredients let it stand for at least 30 minutes to marinate and off you go and steam the pork spare ribs.
Yes the pork spare ribs will be fully cooked by steaming. You will be surprised also to see that steaming pork spare ribs actually render fats, and that will be the indication the it is cooked.
Here is the recipe of my Steamed Pork Spareribs, Pinoy Style, try it.
Ingredients:
1 kilo pork spare ribs, cut into 1 1/2” lengths
1/2 cup salted black beans, drained, rinsed
1 thumb sized ginger, skinned, grated
2 cloves garlic, peeled, finely chopped
1/2 cup dark soy sauce
1 teaspoon coarsely ground peppercorns
1/2 cup cornstarch
1 teaspoon sugar
sesame oil
cooking oil
spring onions
chili garlic sauce
Cooking Procedure:
In a big bowl place the pork spareribs, then toss in the salted black beans, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, ground peppercorns and sugar. Now drizzle with some cooking oil and few dash of sesame oil. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes.
Transfer the marinated pork spareribs including all the marinating liquid into a shallow, heatproof baking pan that will fit inside a steamer. Fill the steamer with water and bring to a boil, place the baking pan with the spareribs on the steaming rack. Steam on med to high heat for 30 to 45 minutes until the pork ribs start to render fats. Add more water to the steamer as necessary. When done garnish with spring onion and served with some chili garlic sauce.
