Baked Tulingan, Sinaing na Tulingan Style

Image
Baked Tulingan, Sinaing na Tulingan Style . Do you love the Batangas Sinaing na Tulingan and want to impress your family or friends here is my innovative baked version. The ingredients including the banana leaf wrap are basically the same with the usual Sinaing na Tulingan . Or you may use your own usual ingredients if you think my recipe is missing some ingredients. To cook my Baked Tulingan, Sinaing na Tulingan Style , of course you need an oven and instead of using a pot I used a baking dish. This was my first try to cook Baked Tulingan, Sinaing na Tulingan Style so I opted to try it first with just 3 medium sized tulingan .   Just arrange the individually wrapped flattened tulingan and other ingredients on the baking dish line with banana leaf and sealed with aluminium foil. The dish is then baked for 2 1/2 hours at 250Deg F or 120deg C. Now if you are looking for the usual cooking method of Sinaing na Tulingan or looking for other tulingan or sinaing na...

Pinoy Baked Prawns with Garlic and Cheese

Image
Pinoy Baked Prawns with Garlic and Cheese . I have been trying to make Baked Prawns with Garlic and Cheese similar to my Baked Slipper Lobster with Garlic and Cheese but I did not have success till this one. The cheese topping is either not melting or ended up burning it. But this time during my short travel back to Manila I have a change to try it again. The secret ingredient? Quickmelt cheese , it is one of the more popular Pinoy cheese and available everywhere. With the success of my recent baked pasta dish topped with a 2 layers of cheese, regular cheddar cheese and quickmelt cheese , the Baked Rigatoni Pinoy Style, gave me an idea to finally make my Baked Prawns with Garlic and Cheese work. Why not use quickmelt cheese ?  This is a very simple dish it does not require all those fancy ingredients. Before I give you the recipes you may want to check also our other prawn recipes; Pinoy Grilled Prawns with Garlic and Cheese Halabos na Hipon sa Royal Tru-Orange Halab...

Baked Tahong, Baked Mussel

Image
Baked Tahong, Baked Mussel , is a popular party dish. Baked tahong is a classic alternative cooking method for the ever abundant tahong beside the usual tinolang tahong . It is a simple dish except for the fairly troublesome cooking preparation. The tahong also needs to be cooked in an oven which is also a problem to some who may not have one. As an alternative an oven toaster can be used, I have used it my self in several occasions, otherwise just grill the tahong but you would not get the burnt mark on the cheese toppings. Here’s how I baked it. Ingredients: 1 kilo large tahong , mussels 1/2 cup butter 1/2 head garlic, finely minced quickmelt cheese, grated Cooking procedure: Wash mussels and place in a container with lid, cover with water and replace lid, let sit for several hours (entire day) to allow the mussels to expel sand and discard sea water, change water frequently and wash and drain. Put the mussels in a large pan, add in 1/2 cup of water, let boil and st...
